We've always been druggies. The history of substance is a story of humanity if you look at the timeline of human intoxicant usage. The flavor of the current outrage over doping in the Tour de France and Barry Bond's vitamins suggests that we've always been reluctant to change and one age's norm is another's work of the devil.
