Well I'm not an economist but it is crazy to see the threads of all disaster stories. Ahh 75% of the grapefruits for N. America come from Florida, whew the storm missed the offshore refineries. Up and down, sorrow and giggles. Thank the force for the internet, newspapers, radio and my genius friends. Otherwise I would have emotional whiplash or have gone catatonic from second hand disaster drama. .
Even the media hipstercritical will break the t.v. fast for some footage of 150 mph winds tossing a palm tree like a dart; floods are always good too or the classic forest fire. It is a feast of disaster, moving something in us all, that knowledge that no matter how intricate your security system nature still rules. .
At the entrance to Kennedy Space Center, a replica of the Mercury-Redstone rocket that Alan Shepard rode into space was knocked over onto its side. Is this mommy nature sending a subtle message, Florida is in the middle of a biblical quality string of disasters since the 'election' in '00. Next it will be raining frogs or the swamps may run red. .
As you watch the tears and the shock take a breath, somewhere in every report is someone talking about how people are coming together. So that even in disaster itsALLlove.
