Mon Dec 18 - Sun Dec 24MoonWeek Sagittarius thru Pisces
The new Moon isn't until Wednesday, so we have until then to shift things around, clean up the physical and non physical and then dwell deep into our souls to get that sense of continuous renewal. Of course to do that you have to look at death, decay and destruction in the face. It's much easier if you know that rebirth, renewal and creation are the reason. We start the week Monday with the Moon in Sagittarius heading towards it's meeting with the Sun on Wednesday. Lots of dark of the Moon stuff is available to us, cleaning up, looking over the last two weeks for clues on direction and generally getting things in order to begin the new cycle. The Sun and Pluto are conjunct today and announcements and pronouncements of group direction will be flying. On the global stage it can be saber rattling, I think we're all a bit weary of that. The beauty of Sag is like an arrow it's one pointed and can only go in one direction when the fingers let go of the bowstring. It's a good reason to dig down into yourself and figure out what the target is. Once loosed you don't get to stop it. On Tuesday we're 'within orb', that's verrry close, to the new moon. If at all possible this evening carve some time out for yourself to just sit and listen, to the voices in the head sure, but to also formulate the direction you're wanting. If it's not crystal clear you can go for the feeling you want, the pace, the style, but be clear the subconscious likes it simple and direct. We get a boost in the communication realm with Mercury and Neptune aspecting, some of the message is about those deep and sometimes not so pretty habits we have. Styles of thinking are habits, things we put in our mind are as important as our bodies, try and get some organic media going! Venus is also aspecting Uranus putting a touch of class and sizzle into the way that we view and use beauty, more as an ideal then just what is beautiful, before the eyes of the beholder view it the mind/heart of the beholder conceives it. Wednesday is the New Moon, kinda like a monthly psychic new year. The idea being that the reality not the concept of rejuvenation is palatable and present for us all. The present is the gift of the moment. It happens late in Sag, what they call the 'weeping' degree. That is the last degree of the sign where the essence of it is stored up. Like the aces in the Tarot for each of the elements. Sagittarius Sun or Moon folks can get a lot off of this placement, it's a moon to really leave yourself some notes from, what you desire, where you want to go. All filtered through acceptance of the NOW and where you really are. Try and do it without judgment, see the fortunate parts of your life. Like the biblical passage, "I cried because I had no shoes until I meet one with no feet." That may sound drastic but if it gets you out from underneath the mental drama for a minute to breath in a new perspective it's served it's purpose well. The majority of the worlds land mass and vegetative material is in the northern hemisphere, on Thursday we have the winter solstice for those north of the equator. From ancient times this has been a huge, some say the biggest, holy day. It's the point where the light returns, that reality is infused with many cultural metaphors, the rebirth of the sun god, the birth of a messiah, the light shining for nights in the temple. You seeing a pattern here? So rather then bemoan the modern sullying of it grab some of the basics; yes the light is coming back for real. Then you can make your own metaphor, invigorating a cultural celebration with the natural one. With the Moon in Capricorn we can sink this down to our bones. I love the story of the equinox and solstice along with the progression of new/full Moons. The bottom line is no matter your geography, language or religion it happens to you just the same, no one exclusively has rights to the procession of the solstices. We're all on the rock together. So at least it's a point of agreement and beyond debate. We shift into the winds of an Aquarius Moon on Friday Now we can allow the wild atmosphere of our psyche to stretch out, filter for some fresh ideas and ways of viewing things. Everything is up for grabs as we move through this sign. It's sometimes good to keep a running list going of the brainstorm going on. You can see how many ways you have viewed the same subject, sometimes in just a hour! On Saturday we still have the filter open, it's a great time for communities and groups to get together and commune mentally, to think up new plans, not so much for hard core decisions but great for opening up the perspective and sifting for new directions that projects can take. To end the week on Sunday we have a split day, it can be like a huge lurch for some. Dropping from the mental into the sensory. Those high thoughts and theories now have an emotional and psychic component when the moon moves into Pisces. Mercury is also trine Saturn bringing together the fire signs of Sag and Leo. So the opportunity to really ground the communication of the heart is there for the willing. If the Aquarius Moon of the last few days brought up a different vision of relationship, or reinforced an old version it's possible to communicate it in a deep heartfelt manner and have it received. On the flip side if you are attempting to communicate something that is a little more aggressive you can use this transit to make your point but use a bit of caution as what's said can stick. We always have to be ready to walk our talk, if not we can be struck mute or wind up using crutches.
