Mon Feb 19 - Sun Feb 25MoonWeek Aries thru Cancer
Monday the moon moves into Aries and a flush of energy is available. To those who have been in the soup it may come as a frantic blast. Using this energy and not letting it use you is the trick. We have Venus and Pluto squaring off, the edge of Pluto's sword can get some dignity and wounds made by harsh words or actions can be healed. The flipside is that some atrocious actions could be made in the name of social morals. Pluto is languishing at the last few degrees of Sagittarius exponentially raising the severity of these actions. Those who come in the name of a harmonious spirituality don't take the violent actions of those coming in the name of a compassionless religious purity. So whether fighting your neighbor with words or missiles the motivation is what lights the fuse. Pulling back to a common spirituality can infuse any fanatic religious philosophy with compassion. All any individual can do when the headlines bleed is assure personal actions are in the flavor you think is best.
Tuesday the Cardinal Fire sign of Moon in Aries is still in effect. The reality that you glimpsed over the weekend is waiting to be lived. The Aries rush can make it more fluid to begin projects, getting a real vision that includes some format of completion is the challenge. Shove Tuesday is today and the Christian part of the Judeo-Christian begins their count down to Easter. Most spiritual philosophies include some sort of atonement or sacrifice. While the party of Mardi Gras may have a 'get it while you can' face its roots are in the awareness of the illusion of the physical world, that wine dance and song only last for so long. In the northern hemisphere we are clear of winter as a killer and now she just can maim. No matter your station in society, living urban or rural the seasons are there. Getting the momentum of the seeds in the ground stirring, the trees awakening can help you in the cube at work too. The middle of the week on Wednesday we transfer from an fiery world into a strong sense of earth and the body. Now the plate that Aries filled must be eaten. Using the almost still pace of Taurus can actually be productive. The home space can be giving a loving look and even simple changes can shift the energy of your day-to-day pace drastically. Making space somewhere in the home for devotion to what you see as the divine is a basic thing that can exponentially charge your life. Venus moves into Aries and the next month is a time to fall in love at a glance, to re-ignite love with a brush of the hand and simple gestures. Allow it to flow whenever you feel it, love is a verb after all. Loving is a skill and can be an art form like any other human activity. We often hold it away differently or just don't examine it. This annual transit of Venus in Aries is a chance to hone our love skills. It can extend to things, ideas or art forms, not just conventional relationships. The roots of why things and people draw this emotion out of us are some of the deepest we have. Feeling love come in or out is a rejuvenating activity that requires no props and anyone can do it. Thursday we have the peace of Taurus still with us. In the depths of ourselves we can feel a sense of contentment with our situation. Santosa is the yogic mindset of being satisfied with whatever you have, grateful even. In the western mind we have a cultural sense of progress or moving forward. To blend these two can be powerful, to be truly grateful for what you have leads you to a space where progressing isn't out of desire but a natural course of maturation. With the Moon in the sign of the bull we can look around our field and see its inherent beauty, you can find art in the trash, creativity in stillness and harmony in chaos. Then what is needed comes without grasping or clutching. Not just a mental thing anymore now it pervades every cell. The Sun is conjunct retrograde Mercury here at the beginning of Pisces so there are flashes of intuition coming in concerning recent emotional dramas that may be haunting us. Taking these in and hearing them like advice from our internal sage can unravel knots of communication that have developed. Friday the Moon shifts into Gemini and now we all have something to say. Other types of communication are sometimes more telling. Body language, voice tone and timing reveal a lot more then the words they accompany. If you watch how you talk now what you talk about you can see the flavor of communicator you are. We all aspire to one that seems uplifting and thoughtful so contradictions to this are exposed now. We can all practice what we preach and taking steps that reflect what we say. It translates into clearer communication and less problems with crossed wires and misunderstandings. For the first part of the weekend Saturday we are still with the moon in babbly Gemini. We can use it instead of being overwhelmed by it. Take time to have discussions with the groups you are involved in. Whether it's a dance troupe, band or business board of directors there are similar communication issues. Indigenous North American peoples used a circle for discussions to resolve community issues. That way all parties are present and have the opportunity to speak their mind and listen to all that is discussed. We can use this model today even if its just dialog with ourselves. The obstruction is just babbling to babble. We all do this at times, but under this Gemini moon we can practice taking a breath before responding or hearing someone completely all the way through before engaging in a response. These conversations are fun when all are talking at once but in review all miss out if there isn't full attention paid to the person who has the floor. Listen to others as you would wish to be listened to. Sunday the Moon shifts into Cancer and we visit the arena of the emotions and feelings. Sensitivity is high now and we should take care with others and ourselves. Cancer is a sign that will let you know where you have issues to deal with, whether it's a stomach that needs better food or internal issues that need to be resolved, Cancer will show you which lights are flashing on the dashboard and these need to be heeded unless you want to have a big malfunction later. They say if you don't take time for health you will be forced to make time for disease. Mars moves into Aquarius today and for a month or so we have the ability to think and feel outside the box in relation to our ability to manifest, in how we deal with confrontation and its consequences. We can see where it is we draw the lines; what we are willing to fight for. If it's trivial things that get you mad but the big picture you're immune to maybe it could use some examination. We often don't get stirred up until it confronts our personal world. The fact, not philosophy is that all is connected. Any child abused, forest defiled or lie told is injustice and deserves our attention. If we all get to this point it would take less effort by each individual to transform the whole. During this transit acts of Mars; wars, conflict over territory and religion can be seen in a new light free of individual bias. The motivations are exposed and available for adjustments. We need this so much now lets not waste the opportunity to examine the nature of conflict itself. It's the physicist, Einstein, who said, "The biggest decision we make every day is whether we live in a hostile or friendly universe." Which one do you inhabit?
